For the first time in Denmark you have the opportunity to explore the art of Hergé, the world famous illustrator best known for The Adventures of Tintin. The exhibition Hergé portraits an artist, who used every means at his disposal and never failed to take inspiration from other art forms. He developed a passion for some of the most avant-garde artists of the era, collecting works by Warhol, Lichtenstein, Dubuffet and others, and even started painting himself during the 1960s. The exhibition looks back on his creative approach, fed by the arts, cinema, photography and adventure novels and his passion for drawing. It shows how the universally recognised drawings of Hergé fit in with both his era and the history of art.

The exhibition is organised by Brandts in partnership with the Musée Hergé.
