The image of a school from the days of old where learning off by heart and caings were the order of the day is enough to send shivers down the back of most people. Nevertheless, The Black School is the title of an exhibition to mark the 40th anniversary of The Funen Printmaking Workshop.
More than 150 artists have contributed with new works for the celebratory exhibition at Brandts 13. The one stipulation for these has been that all of the exhibition’s works must relate to the colour black – the colour that has symbolised graphic art since the invention of the art of printing back in Europe in the 15th century.
